Hello World

Embarking on a Coding Adventure

Hey there,

Before diving into any new coding project or embark on a learning adventure, I have this quirky tradition - writing a simple program that proudly prints “Hello World”. My initiation into the programming world began with the “Hello World” code in Java, and ever since I’ve continued this tradition.

The simplicity of the “Hello World” program makes it a ideal starting point for beginners. So, I decided to kick off my writing journey with a post dedicated to the iconic “Hello World”.

Like any individual, I googled it, turned to chatGPT and here's a snippet of what I uncovered about its history:

The tradition of using "Hello, World!" as a simple introductory program can be traced back to the book "The C Programming Language," written by Brian Kernighan and Dennis Ritchie. This influential book was published in 1978 and became a standard reference for the C programming language. In the book, the authors used "Hello, World!" as the introductory example for the B programming language, which was a precursor to C.

Why Start a Newsletter?

Writing this post about “Hello World” made me realise that I never learned the history of Hello World and that I’ve taken the basic concepts of coding for granted. Launching this newsletter is my personal commitment to continuous learning and exploration.

In a world where tech is seamlessly weaving into every aspect of our lives, understanding the basics of programming and technology is becoming essential. Whether you're a designer, a product manager, a leader, or someone entirely new to the tech scene, my aim is to unravel the complexities through simple language and relatable analogies.

This newsletter is my attempt to make tech a bit more approachable for everyone. So, I invite you to join me on this journey.

For those not involved in coding or programming, what is the fist step you take before embarking on a new project or feature?
